In 2021, I bought a three-acre property with an orchard and pond 30 minutes north of Santa Fe, NM.

My dream was a community and artist retreat.

This property is exploding with potential. There is a 3-bedroom main house and a 1-bedroom casita, as well as established hook-ups for mobile sites. There are dozens of mature trees, and the land feels like you’re in your own park.
It’s zoned so that you can legally build a house for every .75 acres. There is plenty of room for just about anything you can imagine.
In the desert, this place is an oasis.

One of the most special things about the property— and very necessary given the changing climate— is the amount of water on the property. It comes with water rights, enough to irrigate the orchard and gardens all summer. There is a delicious, robust well on the property. And there is a pond full of lily flowers, as well as the Santa Cruz river running at the back edge. The Rio Grande runs just down the road.

I spent the last four years pouring love and labor into the vision. Unfortunately, the people I chose to build the community with me were not ultimately the right partners. I thought long and hard about the right thing to do. The answer is that I am ready to sell and hand off this truly incredibly place to someone else.
