ABOUT THE TEAM

Joanna Garner / Playwright
Joanna Garner, award-winning playwright and immersive experience designer, is known for stories that delve into sexuality, wildness, and transformation. Former Senior Story Creative Director at Meow Wolf, she spearheaded story development for projects like Omega Mart and Convergence Station. Currently, she's crafting experiences for Jon Favreau’s company Fairview Portals and world building for Chloe Zhao’s new film adaptation of Dracula. Her work has been commissioned by Seattle Repertory Theatre and Chance Theater, won the Keene Prize for Literature, and developed nationally and internationally, including at the Banff Centre, the Finnish National Opera, On the Boards, and many others. MFA in Playwriting from UT-Austin, training in sexual shamanism with the International School of Temple Arts.

Katherine Wilkinson / Director
Katherine Wilkinson (she/they) makes physically adventurous, site-responsive performance that moves between classical texts and new work, including scripted plays, devised performance, and immersive projects. Katherine has directed, developed, and presented work with WP, Ars Nova, HERE arts, La Jolla Playhouse (WOW Fest), The New Ohio (Ice Factory), New Georges, Playmakers Rep, MCC, The Atlantic, Clubbed Thumb, Classical Theatre of Harlem, The Mercury Store, The Brick, Signature Theatre, ZAZ10TS Gallery, Fusebox Festival, The Watermill Center, The VORTEX, Theater Mu, Miami New Drama, The Oklahoma Contemporary, The Landford Wilson New Play Festival, among others. 

She is a Columbia University MFA School of the Arts Faculty member and the 24-26 & 26-28 Leader of the WP Directors Lab (Lab Alum). She is also a New Georges Affiliated Artist (Audrey Resident), an Orchard Project Greenhouse Lab Alum, a Susan Blackburn Prize nominee, and a recent winner of the Opera America Tobin Director-Designer Prize. Her production ODDS ARE by Smita Russell won the Excellence in Fringe award at the Edinburgh Fringe (2025) and Excellence in Performance award at the Prague Fringe (2026).
