Five ex-riot grrrls reunite for a bachelorette party and accidentally reawaken the punk band—and the rage—they buried in high school.
Punk AF
PUNK AF is a hilarious, high-voltage new play with original music by Celene Ramadan (Prom Queen). A group of friends in their 40s are forced to confront just how bland, safe and unpunk their lives have become since high school when they reunite for a bachelorette party turned soul reckoning.
Told across two timelines, we follow the five friends between their present-day suburban lives and their 1990s teenage riot grrrl years, when they channeled their rage and desire into punk music. As secrets unravel, friendships are tested, and seismic life choices hang in the balance, each of the former band members reconcile with what it means to be loud in a world that taught them to shut up.
